Wipro has appointed Sandeep Dhar as the global head of its global capability centre (GCC) practice. The company is aiming to expand its presence in a segment that has attracted all major IT services firms.
Dhar will lead Wipro’s consulting-led and AI-powered GCC strategy. This strategy is aimed at helping global companies set up and grow transformation and innovation hubs that are ready for the future. He will report to chief operating officer Sanjeev Jain.
“We are delighted to welcome Sandeep to our team. His vast experience in leading and transforming GCCs, combined with Wipro’s robust capabilities and comprehensive suite of services for GCCs, will enable us to deliver superior business value to clients,” Jain said in a statement.
This appointment is part of chief executive Srini Palia’s efforts to improve revenue growth at India’s fourth-largest IT services company. He is working to resolve several issues that have affected consistent progress over the years.
Dhar has over 30 years of experience in the GCC and consulting sectors. He has previously worked with Tesco and was the head of Goldman Sachs Consumer Bank GCC.
“GCCs evolve to meet dynamic business needs. Enterprises require a trusted partner with the strategic vision to transform them into innovation hubs that drive impact,” he said.
