Alongside the export growth, export authorisations rose by 16.92%, and the number of exporters grew by 17.4%, underlining the expanding reach of India’s defence manufacturing capabilities.
India is currently exporting to around 80 countries and has set an ambitious target of achieving Rs 50,000 crore in defence exports by 2029. This surge in exports is a testament to India’s strengthened global defence manufacturing footprint and its growing influence in the international defence market.
The government’s focus on boosting indigenous defence manufacturing, in line with initiatives like “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India), has played a crucial role in this impressive growth. As India moves toward its 2029 goal, the future of its defence exports looks poised for further expansion.
