As a founder and CEO, my job involves oversight of our asset management practice (as a portfolio manager managing 2000 cr., and we’ve applied for a mutual fund license as well). I’m responsible for strategy, oversight on execution, compliance and growth. Also, a key responsibility is to build marketing through content, videos and podcasts. We want to make investing simpler for India.
The Weekdays
Weekdays are intense. It’s a combination of business strategy, market outlook, working with all the teams – Fund management, compliance, finance, operations and marketing. Through the day, I engage in research, writing (mostly on X but sometimes linkedin and others), and deep dives into financial data. There’s also a fair bit of interaction whether it is clients, my colleagues at Capitalmind, or through podcasts and TV appearances.
The Weekend
Weekends are a mix of relaxation and curiosity. I do take time off from markets, and spend time with the family whenever I can. We love long drives, and sometimes end up going to Mysore to avoid the Bangalore traffic. Books, Podcasts and music are a key part of entertainment, though I’m still seeing episodes of shows that were popular in the last decade. I’m learning some salsa, and that’s a good use of free time!
The Toys
I’m not much of a collector, but I do have a preference for gadgets that make work and life more efficient. A great laptop, a powerful smartphone, and solid noise-canceling headphones are essentials. I like experiences more than I like bright shiny objects, so it’s usually a good restaurant, a nice road trip, a trek or things of that sort.
The Logos
The comma in the Capitalmind logo represents continuity because investing is never about a single moment, but an ongoing journey. Markets change, strategies evolve, and learning never stops. The comma is a reminder to us that there’s always more to analyze, adapt to, and refine. That’s how we approach investing dynamic, data-driven, and always moving forward.
