Kesari 2 Box Office Collection: Directed by debutant Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 has performed well in the first week of its release. As it reached the big screen on April 18, the film managed to create a place in audience’s hearts and received great reviews from the critics. The movie revolves around the tragic historical incident, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, that broke out in Amritsar during the Baisakhi Celebration in 1919.
The film has managed to end its first week on a decent note and collected roughly Rs 46.1 crore, as per the Sacnilk report. The movie had a great start initially but faced hard times later in the week. Kesari Chapter 2 crossed Rs 30 crore mark in just the first three days, but since Monday it has been facing challenges in maintaining its box office collection at a preferable scale.
The Akshay Kumar starrer earned Rs 3.5 crore on its first Thursday showing a marginal increase from Rs 3.6 crore on day 6, Wednesday. According to the Sacnilk report, the movie has collected Rs 58 lakh on its eighth day so far, which led to a total box office collection of Rs 46.68 crore.
Kesari Chapter 2 had a Hindi occupancy rate of 6.39% overall on Friday, day 8. The first week collection of Kesari Chapter 2 is much lower than Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force, which collected Rs 85 crore in its first week at the box office in January.
The movie has received great word of mouth from the audience for its powerful storyline, blending in raw emotions and recalling the tragic bloodshed. Though the movie also faced some criticism for its inaccurate historical background, which could be the possible reason for its drop in box office collection.
After Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar’s various upcoming movies are lined up, including Housefull 5, Jolly LLB 3, Welcome 3, and Bhoot Bangla, to be released in 2025.
