Famous Hollywood actor Val Kilmer who is also known for his roles in Top Gun, Batman and Jim Morrison, died due to Pneumonia, his daughter confirmed to the New York Times. Val was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 and he had been struggling with it since then. He became very popular in his 80s and 90s, but took a break from acting due to his ailment. He returned to the screens in 2022 with Top Gun Maverick, but he was unable to speak due to his throat cancer.
Val was brought up in San Fernando Valley under the hood of Hollywood. He was known for his neat performances. One of his most well-known roles was of a homosexual detective, Gay Perry, in the film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), He channelized Elvis Presely in himself during True Romance (1993).
Kilmer got married to British actress Joanne Whalley who he met at the set of Willow. They met, and in a few months got engaged. In 1996, they got divorced and parted their ways. His love life has been an interesting journey. He dated some of the famous actresses of Hollywood like Daryl Hannah, Cindy Crawford, Angelina Jolie and Cher. In his memoir he wrote, “I haven’t had a girlfriend in 20 years. The truth is I am lonely part of every day.”
His films made nearly $2 billion at the global box office, according to Comscore. His acting career was deep rooted in doing theatre. He offered a glimpse of his life through a 2021 documentary, Val, where he used videotapes of his family and also included behind the scenes of Top Gun and TombStone.
