With just a couple of weeks to go until its big-screen release, the buzz around Housefull 5 is building fast. In a surprising move, the producer of the film, Sajid Nadiadwala, has submitted two different versions of the movie to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), both of which have now been viewed and the film has been approved with a U/A certificate.
According to a report by Pinkvilla, producer Sajid Nadiadwala is planning something unusual with this fifth installment in the popular comedy franchise.
“Housefull 5 is a one-of-its-kind comic thriller, and to keep the mystery of this entertainer intact, the producer has submitted two different versions of the film to the Central Board of Film Certification,” a source told the publication.
“Interestingly, both the versions have been watched by the members of the board, and the film has been certified U/A,” the source added.
While the exact reason as to why two versions of the film were submitted hasn’t been officially revealed, industry chatter suggests that the makers have an innovative twist in the works.
The film’s runtime has been generating quite a lot of buzz too, at 2 hours and 43 minutes, making it the longest entry in the Housefull franchise so far.
“It’s 2 hours and 43 minutes of non-stop entertainment. While the confusion of Housefull stays intact, the storytelling pattern is something not seen before in the world. The makers have promised a killer comedy, with lots of confusion caused by 24 actors in the star-cast,” the source also said.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 features a massive ensemble that includes Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangda Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir, among others.
The trailer drops on May 27, and the film is all set to hit the theatres on June 6, 2025.
