Wipro chairman’s pay doubles but remains below CEO Pallia’s – Industry News

Posted on 24 May 2025 by financepro

Wipro executive chairman Rishad Premji’s remuneration more than doubled to about Rs 13.7 crore in FY25. The increased pay was still lower than the Rs 53.64 crore earned by CEO Srinivas Pallia, according to Wipro’s annual report.

In FY24, Premji did not take any commission as the company’s incremental consolidated net profit for the year was negative. He also took a 20% pay cut and received a salary of about Rs 6.4 crore.

In FY25, Wipro reported an 18.9% increase in net profit, reaching Rs 13,135.4 crore. With this, Premji’s remuneration more than doubled to Rs 13.7 crore, up from about Rs 6.4 crore in the previous year, as per Wipro’s 20-F filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Pallia became CEO and managing director in April 2024 and received a total pay of Rs 53.64 crore in FY25. This is less than half of what his predecessor – Thierry Delaporte – earned in FY24, which was about Rs 168 crore.

Further, the annual report showed Pallia earned around $1.7 million in salary and allowances, $1.7 million as commission or variable pay, $2.8 million under the ‘others’ category, and $68,850 as long-term compensation.

According to the filing, both Premji and Pallia are entitled to a 0.35% commission on the incremental consolidated net profit of the company compared to the previous fiscal year.

Pallia was also granted 1,677,202 stock options with different lock-in periods. No stock options were granted to Premji in FY25.
