UltraTech Cement on Monday announced that the company has worked on various debottlenecking and enhanced efficiencies at various locations and as a result of this, has increased production capacity by 1.4 mtpa. In a regulatory filing, UltraTech Cement said, “As part of its capacity expansion programs, the company has identified several opportunities for debottlenecking and enhancing efficiency at various locations. We are pleased to inform that some of these initiatives have been successfully completed and stabilized, leading to an increased production capacity of 1.4 mtpa.”
The cement major has increased production capacity of 0.6 mtpa at its Nagpur grinding plant, achieved additional capacity of 0.4 mtpa at its Panipat unit and 0.4 mtpa at its Jhajjar (Haryana) grinding unit.
Consequent to this, UltraTech Cement’s total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity now stands at 184.76 mtpa. Along with its overseas capacity of 5.4 mtpa, the company’s global capacity stands at 190.16 mtpa, the cement firm stated in the exchange filing.
Earlier in April, UltraTech Cement had released its fiscal fourth quarter earnings report with profit at Rs 2,482.04 crore, posting a growth of 9.92 per cent in comparison to Rs 2,258.12 crore reported during the corresponding quarter of FY24. It posted revenue from operations at Rs 23,063.32 crore, reporting a growth of 12.95 per cent as against Rs 20,418.94 crore recorded during the same period of previous financial year. The company EBITDA stood at Rs 4,618.4 crore.
The company had stated that its consolidated sales volumes reached 41.02 ml mt for the quarter, up 17 per cent. “The company also achieved over 1GW capacity of renewable power installations, making UltraTech one of the first industrial companies in India to commission 1 Gigawatt of Renewable Energy capacity for captive use,” it had said in a regulatory filing.
