Emraan Hashmi’s much-awaited movie, Ground Zero, generated a lot of buzz prior to its release, but the movie had one of the lowest openings for Bollywood in 2025. The action thriller earned just Rs 1 crore at the box office on its first day, according to a Sacnilk report.
The report also states that Ground Zero recorded an overall 8.63% Hindi occupancy on day 1, with morning shows seeing 4.71% occupancy, afternoon shows 8.25%, evening shows 7.49% and night shows occupancy were the maximum at 14.06%.
Starring Emraan Hashmi, Sai Tamhankar, and Zoya Hussain, Ground Zero chronicles the real-life story of BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey. In a heroic act, he was a part of the 2003 operation launched on one of the most wanted terrorists — Rana Tahir Nadeem, who was also known as Ghazi Baba.
In the film, Emraan Hashmi as BSF Second-in-Command Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey. Sai Tamhankar playing his wife, Jaya Dubey, and Zoya Hussain as Aadila.
For the uninitiated, Ground Zero created history by becoming the first film in 38 years to hold a red carpet screening in Srinagar, before it released in theatres.
Directed by Tejas Prabha and Vijay Deoskar, Ground Zero is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment.
