Coal India
The state-run Coal India will build a 1,600 megawatt coal-powered plant through a joint venture in the eastern state of Jharkhand at an investment of Rs 16,500 crore to meet increasing power demand. The company on Monday signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with power generator Damodar Valley Corporation for setting up the plant, which will have two 800 MW units and will be an expansion of an existing 500 MW plant.
NTPC
Evren, a platform launched by Brookfield in India, has entered into a 300 MW Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC for the supply of firm and dispatchable renewable energy. The plant, designed for 300 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE), has solar, wind, and battery storage for efficient peak-hour energy dispatch, helping power distribution companies in better matching power demand with renewable supply, especially during peak demand periods.
HUL
Hindustan Unilever acquired a 90% stake in Uprising Science for Rs 2,706.44 crore. The acquisition was carried out through a combination of primary infusion and secondary share purchase, culminating in a total cash consideration of Rs 2,706,44,95,728, the company said in an exchange filing.
Tata Investment
Tata Investment Corporation reported a 37.7% year-on-year fall in net profit at Rs 37.7 crore for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024-25. It posted a net profit of Rs 60.5 crore in the same period a year ago. The company’s revenue from operations plummeted 71.2% to Rs 16.4 crore compared with Rs 57 crore in the corresponding quarter of the preceding fiscal.
Prestige Estates Projects
Prestige Estates Projects is looking to double its residential launches in FY26. The company launched 26.28 million square feet of projects during FY25, mostly across Bengaluru, Mumbai and Hyderabad, with a combined gross development value of Rs 26,222.8 crore. Prestige launched 14 million sq ft of residential properties across its key markets in Q4 FY25, with a gross development value (GDV) of Rs 16,133.8 crore, said Irfan Razack, Chairman and Managing Director of the company.
Anant Raj
Real estate and infra company Anant Raj announced a consolidated net profit of Rs 118.6 crore, a jump of 51.5% YoY compared to Rs 78.3 crore in the same period last year. Its revenue surged by 22.2% YoY, reaching Rs 540.7 crore in Q4 as opposed to Rs 442.6 crore YoY.
Tata Power
Tata Power Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of Tata Power, signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Tata Motors for the joint development of a 131 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project. The project is expected to generate approximately 300 million units of renewable electricity annually and reduce over two lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders announced the appointment of Capt (retd) Jagmohan as the chairman and managing director. The appointment follows an order conveyed by the Ministry of Defence, signalling a strategic move to boost the company’s leadership.
