Released on Thursday, April 10, Jaat has been doing exceptionally well at the box office since its release. Giving tough competition to Salman Khan’s Sikandar initially, it is now facing stark competition with Kesari Chapter 2. The film saw a great drop in its collection on Days 6, 7, and 8.
On Friday, day 8, Jaat collected around Rs 4.25 crore, as per Sacnilk. Until now, the film has collected a total of Rs. 65.90 crore within nine days. The film initially made a good start, reaching a total of Rs. 50 crore in the first 5 days, however as the release date of Kesari 2 came closer, Jaat saw a drop in day-to-day collection.
Sunny Deol-starrer Jaat created a great buzz among his fans after Gadar 2, which was a blockbuster film. The action-packed film gave fans a chance to view a fabulous star back in theaters in his signature angry role.
The film revolves around the action and rift between Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sri Lankan terrorists headed by Ranatunga, portrayed by Randeep Hooda. The action and thrill keep the fan rooted to their seats despite the regular storyline, as criticized by netizens.
However, after the release of Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari Chapter 2, Sunny Deol’s Jaat is facing challenges to keep up with the same box office collections as in the initial days.
Kesari Chapter 2, starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R. Madhavan, is getting praise from the audience for its powerful storyline and the portrayal of such a grievous incident like Jallianwala Bagh in a historic manner. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta and many other politicians and celebrities like Rana Daggubatti praised the movie.
