The Vicky-Rashmika starrer has become increasingly popular among the Marathi audience with maximum collection from Hindi viewers. The Telugu release was made on March 7 and has performed decently for itself. Starring Akshaye Khanna in the antagonist’s role, the film will be released on April 11 on Netflix for OTT viewers.
Following a wave of controversy and the Chhaava was also blamed for the recent Nagupr violence and thus promotions for the film have been kept to the minimum. The downward trend has also been linked to the releases of the Salman Khan starrer Sikandar which hit screens on March 30.
Next up for Vicky Kaushal fans is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Love and War” also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Rashmika Mandanna, on the other hand, was also seen with Salman Khan in Sikandar though it was received a multitude of poor reviews from audiences and fans. As Chhaana continues it seven week theatrical run, fans speculate whether it will leave the big screens after its OTT release.
