Despite mixed reviews and harsh criticism, Salman Khan’s Sikandar surpasses Rs 85 crore in five days, heading towards becoming his next Rs 100-crore film.
Amid the film’s buzz, a viral interview clip of Salman with Bollywood Bubble has sparked discussions about Bollywood’s selective support. When asked about the industry’s silence on Sikandar, Salman replied, “Maybe they think that I don’t need their support.” He quickly added, “But everyone needs support, including me.”
Salman then shifted focus to support his peers, praising Sunny Deol’s upcoming action film Jaat (releasing April 10, 2025) and the Malayalam blockbuster L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, which has already broken records.
Notably, Sunny Deol was the only Bollywood star to publicly promote Sikandar with a social media shoutout. Aamir Khan also featured in a promotional video with Salman and director AR Murugadoss, but the overall lack of industry-wide backing has drawn attention.
Sikandar’s Box Office Collection Day 5
Salman Khan’s Sikandar had a strong box-office opening on March 30. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Sharman Joshi, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sathyaraj in key roles. As of Day 5 (till 4 PM), the movie earned Rs 2.14 crore, with a total pan-India collection of Rs 86.39 crore so far.
The co-production of Nadiadwala and Salman Khan, Sikandar, focuses on the journey of a young man navigating a corrupt system. Its compelling trailer quickly gained over a million views within 24 hours.
