The globally loved web-slinging Spider-Man missed out the first Avengers Doomsday casting roll call. Thankfully, the web crawler’s fans have this year’s CinemaCon spreading the Spidey joy.
First things first. Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse, the desperately awaited threequeel to Sony‘s animated wall-crawler universe, has finally locked down a release date. Back in 2023, during the Across the Spider-Verse cinematic run, word that the third entry to the much-loved animated offering would swing by the theatres in 2025. Unfortunately, that wasn’t meant to be. Thrilled fans were sucker-punched yet again when a subsequent 2026 release window was also shattered.
Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse release date OUT
Marvel enthusiasts held their breath awaiting the new Beyond the Spider-Verse release date notice, but it never came — until Sony’s CinemaCon in the final week of March 2025. The studio finally let it slip that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse would be out on June 4, 2027.
Producer Phil Lord and co-directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson acknowledged just how “important this franchise is to so many people.” They further affirmed that the long wait was warranted and would prove to worth it in time as they “needed to take the time to make sure (they) got it just right.”

Filmmakers tease ‘insane’ threequel + Beyond the Spider-Verse first look unveiled at CinemaCon
And now, they’ve promised us all an “insane”-looking “massive finale to the trilogy” that began in 2018, while reiterating that the new film — just as the overall franchise — is meant for “your large format screens.” Team filmmaking team didn’t come empty-handed. As proof, they brought along with them the Beyond the Spider-Verse first look. Visuals of the same have already massively blown up on social media.
Giving us a better vision of how things may swing back into place for Miles Morales in the upcoming threequel, Lord teased how he will start off in as a fugitive on the run. Much like Across the Spider-Verse’s ending, every other spider in the multiverse will continue chasing after him. But we also saw Gwen and Miles’ other friends joining forces before the credits rolled out the emotional rollercoaster ride that was the sequel. The film’s producer hinted they “may or may not be enough to help him save the family that’s been the leading part of the entire system.”
Screen-grabs of the footage gone viral on the internet have already left fans teary-eyed and simultaneously raging with excitement. According to Variety, the unmistakable animation of the franchise takes over the scenes instantly as the focus shifts to Morales declaring that he’ll be doing things “his way” — a much-familiar theme still echoing in Spidey fans’ minds since Across the Spider-Verse. The teaser has yet to officially released for the public eye.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 title breaks away from long-running ‘home’ theme
While Peter Parker’s next cinematic outing was confirmed a while back, the live-action fourquel has now also locked its official title. Beginning with Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, the Tom Holland-led movie franchise followed up with Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2019 and 2021, respectively.
However, with the last-seen theatrical offering concluded with the world’s memory of Peter Parker being wiped clean. No one remembering who is behind the Spider-Man mask calls for things setting the refresh button, and so they have. The fourquel, with director Destin Daniel Cretton at the helm, is titled “Spider-Man Brand New Day.
Since Holland couldn’t be there in person to interact with the fans at the Las Vegas event due to the ongoing shoots of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, he sent a video message from across the world.
“I am so sorry I can’t be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie,” he said. ” know we left you with a massive clip hanger at the end of ‘No Way Home,’ so ‘Spider Man: Brand New Day’ is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.”
Spider-Man Brand New Day release date confirmed
Holland, fortunately, exercised restraint, just as Cretton briefly hinted he was spending his time “exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world.” The Shang-Chi director also shared, “We’re all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”
While Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are expected to reprise their roles as Peter Parker’s besties MJ and Ned, Cretton and others present at the scene didn’t confirm any casting for Spider-Man Brand New Day. Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is poised to join the cast in an untitled role, per a previous casting announcement. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 is slated to premiere in movie theatres on July 31, 2026 (a week late compared to the previous announcement).
