In the latest round of visa interviews at the US Consulate in Hyderabad, a B1/B2 visa applicant successfully secured approval after a confident and well-prepared interaction with consular officers. The applicant, who applied in April 2025, shared their experience on Reddi to help others preparing for travel to the United States.
The VAC (Visa Application Center) appointment took place in the first week of May. Though the applicant arrived early, they found that arriving 45 minutes ahead of schedule would have sufficed. The VAC is conveniently connected to the Next Galleria Mall via a skybridge, and lockers are available for personal items.
The consular interview was held in the last week of May. The applicant, scheduled for a 9:45 AM slot, arrived at 8:35 AM and was allowed early entry. During the interview, the consular officer asked routine questions about travel purpose, destination, and financial support. When asked about the presence of relatives in the US, the applicant mentioned their brother and handed over his visa copy, although the passport copy was not available.
The officer concluded the session by approving the visa and wishing the traveler a safe journey.
The applicant’s prior travel history, including visits to countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and the UK, may have strengthened the case. They emphasized the importance of confidence, accuracy, and preparation—especially in remembering details from the DS-160 form.
With B1/B2 visa demand increasing post-pandemic, such positive experiences offer encouragement to future travelers navigating the process in India.
