Perplexity has been championing the cause of generative AI-powered search engines and encouraging legacy software giants like Google and Microsoft to revolutionise the internet surfing experience. Now, the AI firm wants to let people make the most out of the available data and information, and for the same, it has created the Perplexity Labs.
Perplexity Labs is a new AI tool that helps users access data and information available online and generate tables, spreadsheets and dynamic dashboards. The idea is to do the data research for you, utilising modern generative AI tools.
“Using Perplexity is like having a dedicated answer machine available to you 24/7. Using Labs is like having a team. A Perplexity Lab is for anyone who wants to bring an entire idea to life,” says the official blog post.
How to use Perplexity Labs?
Perplexity Labs can be tasked to conduct research and analysis of a certain topic. Once the prompt is given, Perplexity Labs takes utilises web search via its search engine, executes self-made codes and presents the data in visually appealing ways, i.e., via charts, graphs and real-time dashboards.
“Labs can craft everything from reports and spreadsheets to dashboards and simple web apps — all backed by extensive research and analysis,” says Perplexity. “Labs can accomplish in 10 minutes what would previously have taken days of work, tedious research, and coordination of many different skills. All the data and files created by Perplexity Labs are organized in a tab and the user can view/download them whenever they want.
How to access Perplexity Labs?
Perplexity Labs is available for users on Android, iOS and web interface. In the coming days, Perplexity will release Labs for Mac and Windows on their native apps.
Perplexity Labs will only be available to subscribers of Perplexity Pro, a subscription plan that costs $20 per month (approximately Rs 1,711 per month).
