OnePlus is gearing up for the next chapter in its premium smartphone space with the OnePlus 13s – a brand new compact premium smartphone that sits almost on the same level as the OnePlus 13. Advertised as the more compact version of the OnePlus 13, the 13s also ends up as the platform for OnePlus to showcase some of its future mobile tech, namely a new Wi-Fi chip and the company’s new AI suite.
OnePlus 13s launch date in India
The OnePlus 13s is scheduled to launch on June 5, 2025 in India and is expected to compete with the likes of the iPhone 16, Samsung Galaxy S25 and Google Pixel 9. Note that the OnePlus 13 will now act as the model with a larger display and superior cameras. OnePlus will stream the launch event via its YouTube channel.
OnePlus 13s expected Indian price
Based on the rumours so far, the OnePlus 13s will sit in the middle of the OnePlus 13 range. With an expected price tag of Rs 55,000, the OnePlus 13s will be a lot more accessible than the OnePlus 13 (starts at Rs 69,999) but a lot pricier than the OnePlus 13R (starts at Rs 42,999). Note that the OnePlus 13s is expected to be available in another variant with higher RAM and storage.
Why is the OnePlus 13s so hyped?
Although most OnePlus phones often enjoy a lot of hype during their launch events, the OnePlus 13s stands out for a lot many reasons.
– Firstly, for its size. The OnePlus 13s will mark the brand’s return to compact flagship phones since the days of the OnePlus 7. With a 6.3-inch display, the OnePlus 13s is expected to have the same sort of size as the Apple iPhone 16 and the Samsung Galaxy S25. The compact dimensions are expected to help OnePlus appeal to a new set of buyers seeking a compact premium smartphone.
– Then there’s the performance package. Despite being a compact phone, the OnePlus 13s relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is the same processor as the OnePlus 13. At the moment, no other chipset in the world of Android phones offers this kind of performance, thus making this a pocket powerhouse for most people.
– Since the dimensions are compact, the OnePlus 13s will offer a dual camera system at the back and a 32MP autofocus camera at the front. OnePlus is yet to reveal the full details on the cameras.
– Some of the star highlights from the OnePlus 13s teasers include an independent Wi-Fi chip, support for 5.5G mobile connectivity, additional heat dissipation measures and the promise of a long battery stamina.
– The Alert Slider key has been replaced with a new Plus Key – OnePlus’ take on the iPhone’s Action button. Other than changing the ringer profile of the device as well as offering shortcuts to other on-device functions, it also offers access to the host of AI features on board.
– With the OnePlus 13s, OnePlus is adopting Ai wholeheartedly than ever. The OnePlus Mind Space will provide an AI-powered clipboard that can remember things for you and provide more contextual information. There will be more AI tools to enhance and edit images, provide translation service, offer AI search and more.
