Posted on 31 May 2025 by financepro

Ever since the release of its highly anticipated teaser, War 2 has wasted no time in creating a buzz around the movie. Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, this movie promises a high-octane showdown between the two titans of Indian cinema – Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. As expected, the teaser and the first look of the film is a visual feast, offering glimpses of slick action choreography, intense face-offs, and a story high on drama. But beyond the adrenaline-pumping action sequences, the cast salary of War 2 has also been the talking point in the movie. Let’s find out who took home the biggest paycheck for the movie.

Jr NTR leads the cast with Rs 60 crore

War 2 marks Jr NTR’s much-hyped entry in Bollywood. When this movie in YRF’s spy universe was announced, industry insiders anticipated a significant fee. According to Koimoi, Jr NTR reportedly signed on for War 2 with a fee of Rs. 60 crore, crossing even the salary he drew for RRR, which was Rs. 45 crore.

Initially, there was speculation that the RRR star might have charged Rs 30 crore, but with the updated figures, he is now the top-paid actor in the film.

Hrithik Roshan returns as Kabir Dhaliwal

Reprising his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, Hrithik Roshan brings back the charm and gravitas that made War a box office hit in 2019. This time, Roshan’s fee is reportedly set at Rs. 48 crore, which is more than his previous films with Yash Raj Films. Hrithik Roshan’s return ensures that the sequel retains the essence of its original success.

How much did Kiara Advani earn for War 2?

Making her entry into the high-octane YRF spy universe, Kiara Advani will be seen opposite Hrithik Roshan as his love interest. In what is expected to be a pivotal role, the actress is reportedly being paid Rs. 15 crore – her biggest paycheck to date, thus marking a significant milestone in her career.

Shabbir Ahluwalia in a supporting role

Television heartthrob Shabbir Ahluwalia is also part of the cast of War 2. While not much is known about his character, it is reported that the actor is charging Rs. 30–35 lakhs for his role.

Ayan Mukerji, the director

After the fantastical world of Brahmastra, Ayan Mukerji takes the directorial reins of War 2, marking his debut in the spy genre. The director has reportedly been signed on for a fee of Rs. 32 crore, making him one of the highest paid filmmakers in today.

War 2 is being hailed as one of the most expensive action films ever produced in India, with a massive budget of Rs. 200 crore. The film has been shot across six international locations – Spain, Italy, Abu Dhabi, Russia, Japan, and India. Scheduled to release on August 14, 2025, War 2 will be available in five languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
