Sydney Sweeney launches soap made with her used bath water, netizens ask, ‘is she drowning in debt?’ – Entertainment News

Posted on 30 May 2025 by financepro

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney has sent social media into a frenzy with her latest offbeat venture—a limited-edition soap made with her actual bathwater. The actress announced the unusual collaboration with natural body care brand Dr. Squatch via a joint Instagram post on Thursday, unveiling the product, Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss.

“You kept asking about my bathwater after the @drsquatch ad… so we kept it,” Sweeney teased in the caption. “Introducing Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss! A very real, very limited-edition soap made with my actual bathwater.”

The $8 exfoliating bar—infused with natural ingredients like sand, pine bark extract, and scented with pine, Douglas fir, and earthy moss—will be available from June 6, 2025, on Dr. Squatch’s official website. Only 5,000 bars have been produced. Ahead of the launch, fans can enter an exclusive giveaway via Dr. Squatch’s website or Instagram, open from May 29 to June 5 (closing at 11:59 PM PT / June 6, 12:29 PM IST). Only 100 lucky winners will receive the soap before it hits the market.

In a photo promoting the product, Sweeney is seen lounging in a luxurious bath with a mountain view—leaning into the quirky and bold nature of the campaign.

“When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it or turn it into a bar of Dr. Squatch soap,” she said in a statement.“It’s weird in the best way, and I love that we created something that’s not just unforgettable—it actually smells incredible and delivers like every other Dr. Squatch product I love. With this collaboration, Sweeney hopes to spark conversation about what goes into conventional personal care products and encourage a shift toward natural alternatives, particularly among men.

“She is going to make a ton of money”

The Internet swiftly reacted to the announcement. A user asked, “Ok, for real tho, did she just get addicted to the hustle? Or is she drowning in debt?.” Another added, ” Legally you can’t actually sell sanitary  products unless they are well… clean so it’s just an ad hook. Tho I’d imagine she helped pick the scent.” A netizen stated, ” Christ, What’s next, perfume infused with the scent of her used underwear?.” “As someone who manufactures cosmetics and personal care products, adding this ingredient 100% causes the product to become adulterated. It isn’t sanitary and would mean the product doesn’t follow the FDA’s good manufacturing practices, which isn’t good. I understand the marketing and thought behind the product. If they marketed it as a novelty item and not as a soap/to be used then it’d be a different conversation, “stated a user. “She is going to make a ton of money doing it too,” opined another.
