iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max to M5 MacBooks: Top 5 new products Apple is set to launch in 2025 – Technology News

Posted on 22 May 2025 by financepro

It has been a while since we heard from Apple since the controversial release of the iPhone 16e. While rivals like Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi and Oppo have been delivering hits one after the other, Apple is yet to open its Pandora’s box. Don’t be mistaken though as the Cupertino-based firm has a lot of new things planned for 2025. And the best part is that a majority of those launches is yet to happen.

While the obvious star is the iPhone 17 series, particularly the much-awaited and highly hyped iPhone 17 Air, Apple is bringing upgrades to most of its other popular product categories. The MacBook Pro is expected to step into the M5 generation of chipsets and the same is expected of the iPad Pro. Professionals and creators will be greeted with a new Mac Pro desktop system as well.

As for everyone awaiting a major refresh of the AirPods Pro, rumours have it that Apple is likely to bring an all-new third-generation model with substantial upgrades and improvements.

There’s also a possibility for Apple to hint at some of these products at the upcoming WWDC 2025 event. Do stay tuned to all the updates related to this upcoming Apple event on Financial Express.

Hence, without further ado, let’s dig in deep into everything that Apple is expected to launch in 2025.

iPhone 17 series

As expected, the iPhone 17 is set to deliver significant enhancements and new features, marking the next major leap in Apple’s smartphone evolution. Other than a usual generational upgrade to the A19 chipset family, the iPhone 17 series will reshuffle the lineup by discontinuing the Plus model in favour of a new Air variant. This iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to be extremely slim at 5.5 mm, thus competing with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. With a single 48 MP rear camera and a 24 MP front camera, this one will be more suited for casual users. A slimmer battery could affect its stamina but the 120Hz OLED display could make up for it along with the Apple C1 modem.

The rest of the iPhone 17 series is expected to evolve the iPhone 16 series’ design. The A19 chip will be available in different states of tune for the vanilla and Pro variants. The 120Hz ProMotion display will be a standard affair across the range this season. And don’t discount some new colours this year!

MacBook Pro M5

The MacBook Pro lineup will debut the powerful new M5 chip, including high-performance M5 Pro and M5 Max variants designed for creative professionals. While the design is likely to remain identical to the existing M4 variants, Apple will focus largely on the M5 chip’s performance. TSMC will employ a new System-on-Integrated Chip (SoIC) packaging technology for improving the thermal management and basic electrical performance. While the standard M5 chip could offer marginal improvements, you can expect bigger gains on the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.

    M5 iPad Pro

Similar to the MacBook Pro, the iPad Pro will also get the M5 treatment. The iPad Pro will rely on the standard M5 chip only for all its performance requirements. For those using these tablets for video editing and other creative applications, the M5 chip could offer a notable improvement in performance, especially with regards to raw processing and quicker rendering times. Sadly, there won’t be any changes to the rest of the package, which means you will continue to see great OLED panels with nano texture glass display, a repositioned front camera, a capable 12MP rear camera with LiDAR sensor and 256GB of storage as standard. With iPadOS 19, which is slated to be revealed at the WWDC 2025, you can expect smarter features, UI tweaks and, of course, new Apple Intelligence tools.

      New Mac Pro

The Mac Pro has remained unchanged for two years and before you assume that Apple has forgotten about the creators and professionals, you are mistaken. The Mac Pro is rumoured to get upgraded to a new and beefy M4 Ultra chip, which prioritises raw performance and on-device AI processing. This chip, codenamed the Hidra, could eventually allow for Mac Pro users to harness the 3nm M4 chip’s maximum potential.

        AirPods Pro (3rd Gen)

The next generation AirPods Pro are expected to arrive sometime later this year. While an improved audio performance is a given thing, leaksters suggest that the third generation model will include a better noise cancellation system and a integrated infrared camera sensors, the latter focusing on Spatial Audio and wellness functionality. There could be changes to the basic design of the AirPods Pro as well.
