Cognizant opened a techfin centre at the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) on Wednesday, expanding its presence in Tier 2 cities. Cognizant chief financial officer (CFO) Jatin Dalal said the centre will work towards accelerating digital and AI-led solutions for global banking, financial services, insurance, and fintech. “We already have 150 employees at the office today, most of whom are locals. Starting with 600 employees, we aim to recruit 2,000 employees for the techfin centre within the next 3 years,” he said.
The range of services the techfin centre will provide include data analytics, cybersecurity and digital engineering, he said, adding BFSI services will be at the core of all operations, as it accounts for approximately 30% of Cognizant’s global revenue.
“We aim to continue growing our portfolio of services in the future, such as enterprise support for SIP, Oracle and more,” Dalal added.
The GIFT City centre, inaugurated by Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel and Dalal, is the newest addition to Cognizant’s presence across cities in India.
The chief minister said, “I am confident that this new centre will significantly contribute to innovation, job creation, and the continued growth of the city.”
