Final Destination Bloodlines Box Office Day 6: A Hollywood extravaganza is dominating Indian movie theatres despite big Bollywood names returning with major sequels. With Tom Cruise cruising back to his Mission: Impossible roots for one last time, Thunderbolts unleashing a brand-new Avengers era, and Ryan Coogler’s record-smashing hit Sinners reigniting hope for original movies, the horror standout Final Destination Bloodlines has found worthy competition at the global box office.

As of now, the sixth installment of the death-cheating horror franchise has collected Rs 25.31 crore in India in just six days, according to Sacnilk. Weekend numbers across all languages in India peaked on Sunday with an accumulation of Rs 6.6 crore, significantly surging from the collections as recorded on Friday and Saturday – Rs 5.35 crore and Rs 6 crore, respectively.

Even without the detailed data for Tuesday pending, it’s evident that the week beginning with Monday experience a sudden slump in Final Destination Bloodlines box office numbers. Preliminary reports signalled an estimate of Rs 2.75 for Day 6, with PVR INOX’s Blockbuster Tuesday offer supporting the numbers.

Box office clash with Mission Impossible, Thunderbolts, Sinners

Billed as a creative reboot of the decades-old series, the Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein directorial directorial, though winning at its own game, bowed to Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning raking in over Rs 38 crore in India in three days. Parallel to the Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein directorial, Thunderbolts with an asterisk is still sitting pretty in Indian theatres, amassing steady box numbers with a collection of nearly Rs 23 crores by Day 20. Sinners, on the other hand, has attracted close to Rs 10 crores as of its 32nd day in Indian theatres.

On the other side of the globe, the new addition to the 25-year-old franchise debuted to $51 million in its opening weekend in the US. according to Variety. The scary-good numbers helped Final Destination Bloodlines topple reigning champion, Thunderbolts, from the top spot. Taking the lead with a franchise-best opening, the sixth bloody flick also made pushing off 2009’s The Final Destination from the glorious post with its $27 million debut look easy.

Bloodlines’ US box office collection was enough to compensate the film’s roughly $50 million production cost. Holding out a proud 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, the latest Final Destination bloody-good affair has since effortlessly set off on an impressive $102 million global start.

India holds its head high as one of top overseas territories helping the film scare up millions at the box. Variety’s weekend report suggested that Mexico’s $5.5 million, the UK’s $5.3 million, the Philippines’ $3.4 million, India’s $3 million and France’s $3 million had helped Warner Bros and New Line’s R-rated horror outing to gain momentum on worldwide box office.

Top 6 Movies – Weekend Box Office (US)

The competition ladder – as recorded on the US box office – celebrated Final Destination: Bloodlines on the top, with Thunderbolts slipping to second place. Michael B Jordan, Wunmi Mosako and Hailee Steinfeld-starrer vampire thriller Sinners sat at No 3. Meanwhile, A Minecraft Movie settled in at No 4, with Ben Affleck’s The Accountant 2 in fifth place, and The Weeknd’s Hurry Up Tomorrow crashed at No 6 this weekend, as per Variety.

These stats don’t include Mission Impossible Final Reckoning yet because the spy thriller’s US premiere is slated for this week on May 23. India was blessed with an early cinematic outing.
