Apple iPhone 17 Pro vs iPhone 17 Air: Check prices in India, the USA, Dubai along with camera comparison, launch date and more – Technology News

Posted on 18 May 2025 by financepro

Apple is anticipated to unveil the iPhone 17 series this September, showcasing significant improvements over the iPhone 16 lineup. A highly discussed feature is the expected introduction of a new variant, the iPhone 17 Air. Additionally, the company may finally incorporate a 120Hz refresh rate display in the standard iPhone 17, representing a substantial upgrade from the 60Hz display of its predecessor. The forthcoming model is also expected to include enhanced camera technology and a more robust chipset for superior overall performance. This year, the company is set to launch four distinct models: the standard iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Pro, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a completely new variant — the iPhone 17 Air.

Apple iPhone 17 Pro camera:

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to come equipped with next-gen camera hardware, featuring a trio of 48MP sensors: a primary lens, a fusion module, and an Ultra-Wide camera. A major innovation in this lineup is the introduction of a 48MP Tetraprism Telephoto lens, expected to be a standout feature. While the redesigned Ultra-Wide camera draws inspiration from previous iterations, the upgraded Telephoto lens is projected to offer a substantial boost in magnification capabilities and photo clarity.

To appeal to photography lovers, Apple is rumored to be adding a mechanical aperture to its upcoming iPhone models. This addition would allow users to manually adjust how much light passes through the lens, offering enhanced creative control. It would also enable better manipulation of depth of field, giving users the ability to precisely manage focus and create more visually compelling images.

iPhone 17 Air Camera:

Thanks to its ultra-slim and lightweight design, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature a single 48MP Fusion rear camera. With a sleek profile possibly measuring just 5.5mm in thickness, there appears to be no room for a dedicated telephoto lens. On the other hand, the regular iPhone 17 is likely to include a 24MP front camera for improved selfies, while its rear camera system may resemble that of the iPhone 16. The entry-level model is expected to maintain a 48MP primary sensor paired with a 12MP Ultra-Wide lens.

Expected Launch Timeline for iPhone 17 Series:

Apple is anticipated to roll out the iPhone 17 series—comprising the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the all-new iPhone 17 Air—sometime in September, following the company’s traditional release schedule. However, the official launch date remains unconfirmed.

Projected iPhone 17 Series Pricing in India, USA, and Dubai:

In India, the iPhone 17 lineup is expected to begin at approximately Rs 89,900, with the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max possibly carrying a price tag of Rs 1,64,900. In the U.S. market, the base iPhone 17 model might launch at around $899. Meanwhile, in Dubai, pricing for the entry-level variant is anticipated to start near AED 3,799.
