Delivers strong value for money, Infinix Note 50s is fast enough for most tasks – Technology News

Posted on 12 May 2025 by financepro

Many people appreciate the practicality of Infinix phones due to their smooth and fast running, build quality and all-day battery life. The handsets respond quickly to user input, transition between apps without lag and handle resource-intensive tasks like gaming without fuss. Infinix Note 50s 5G+ now builds on this reputation. This phone offers a good balance of features and price. You get a bright and sharp display, capable cameras and a lot more – all at a reasonable price point.

The Note 50s 5G+ comes in three colours—Marine Drift Blue, Titanium Grey and Burgundy Red. There are two variants available: 8GB + 128GB (Rs 15,999) and 8GB + 256G ( Rs 17,999). The handset features a decent-sized 6.78-inch FHD+ 3D curved AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate. It is quite bright and easy to use even in direct sunlight. Moreover, it is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and comes with IP64 water and dust resistance. The device is as tough as it is good-looking, with added support for wet-surface touch. It is slim and easy to use with one hand. The phone’s ergonomics, particularly its weight distribution and curvature, adds to its appeal.

Internally, we are looking at a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate processor. Running on Android 15 with XOS 15, it offers a cleaner, more personalised experience. There are minimum third-party apps, refreshed UI themes, dynamic bar, and plenty of AI features like AI wallpaper generator, AI note, AI writing assistant, and Folax – the AI voice assistant. The integration of AI Halo Lighting adds functional flair to notifications, charge status, and selfie timers. Users can expect smooth and brisk gaming with 90FPS in supported games, faster visuals, and seamless multitasking.

AI-enhanced photography and videography is hot these days and Infinix puts up a good show when it comes to its imaging capabilities. The 64MP Sony IMX682 dual rear camera is paired with a 13MP front camera. The phone supports 4K@30FPS video recording (front & rear), 10X digital zoom, and an impressive suite of AI features including AI Eraser, AIGC Mode, and dual LED flash. There are 12+ photography modes, including Vlog Mode and Pro Mode, available on this device.

On the battery front, we are looking at a 5500mAh power source. At my end, the battery lasted a full two days with moderate use, engaging in activities like browsing YouTube for snack videos, watching movies on Netflix and IPL matches etc. You can top it back up fairly quickly with 45W All-Round FastCharge 3.0. With features like low-temperature charge, bypass charging, and reverse charging, users can stay powered all day without any stress.

The Note 50s is a capable and attractive mid-range Android phone. It delivers fast performance, smooth gaming, and hassle-free multitasking. Apps open in an instant and when it comes to camera performance, I have been impressed with its capabilities. It’s worth considering if money is tight, or if you want a second phone that can withstand everyday wear and tear, and yet work just fine.
