The action-thriller starring, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal has entered the league of movies with south-Indian glamour like Chennai Express, Bahubali and KGF 2 which had a Rs 50 crore opening box office collection. Breaking all pre-sales records, Empuraan earned Rs 80 crores with a nearly Rs 3.5 crore opening in India within few-hours of its release. L2: Empuraan has also become North America’s biggest Malyalam release as per advance bookings.
