Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2, has been performing exceptionally well at the box office in the 11 days since its release. The film entered its second week on a high note, earning a net collection of Rs 3 crore on Monday. Released on April 18, shortly after the anniversary of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, Kesari Chapter 2 has now earned a total of Rs 68.40 crore at the domestic box office.
Kesari Chapter 2 is performing better than expected at the domestic box office, competing with Sunny Deol’s Jaat and Salman Khan’s Sikandar. According to Sacnilk, the film has collected approximately 68.40 crore in 11 days since its release. After an average opening on the first day of its release, the film grossed Rs 7.75 crore. The movie experienced a steady increase in earnings, collecting Rs 9 crore and then Rs 12 crore on the subsequent days. By the end of its first week, the total collection stood at Rs 46.1 crore. In the second week, over the next four days, Kesari Chapter 2 added another Rs 22.3 crore to its tally.
As of now, Kesari Chapter 2 is seeing a strong performance at the box office. Director Karan Singh Tyagi and his team are celebrating the success of this film, as Kesari Chapter 2 has entered the Rs 100 crore club worldwide in just 10 days. Surpassing the lifetime collections of Samrat Prithviraj, Kesari Chapter 2 has now become Akshay Kumar’s fifth highest-grossing film.
Kesari 2, produced by Dharma Production, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, is steadily moving towards the Rs 70 crore benchmark domestically. Featuring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R. Madhavan in its lead roles, the film currently enjoys a strong run at the ticket window. However, it has only three days of relatively competition-free screening before the release of Raid 2, a crime thriller set to hit theaters on Thursday, which could impact its momentum.
