Shah Rukh Khan, along with his family, have finally moved out of Mannat as Mannat is undergoing renovation work. As per reports, it’s expected to take two years for the renovation to finish before the actor can move back in. But due to this renovation work, there’s a section of Mumbai that’s suffering and paying the price. Let’s find out more.
Ever since Shah Rukh Khan moved out, the area around his house, known as Bandstand, has fallen somewhat silent. As fans have stopped visiting his house to pose outside and see their icon’s house up close, it has affected the business of local vendors in the area. The area around Mannat is generally always buzzing with fans. In SRK’s absence, there are several videos circulating on the internet where local vendors share their distress.
In a conversation with the famous Bollywood page, Instant Bollywood, an ice-cream vendor mentioned that his business saw a significant drop. He said that since SRK is not at Mannat anymore, the area sees much less footfall. He explained that earlier people would come to see his house and sometimes stop at his shop but now people go back or their route with their auto or taxi when they realise SRK isn’t at his house.
“Shah Rukh hai toh Mannat hai, nahi toh yeh kuch bhi nahi hai” (When Shah Rukh is here, Mannat has meaning, but without him, it’s nothing,) he said, concluding the video.
While the renovation work is on at Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan is living with his family in a luxury apartment building at Pali Hill, Bandra.
On his work front, Shah Rukh Khan will be next seen in Siddharth Anand’s King, along with his daughter Suhana Khan. Pinkvilla earlier reported that filming for the first schedule of King will begin on May 18.
