Apple today announced that is annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will take place from June 9 to 13, 2025. WWDC is the company’s biggest developer event of the year where Cupertino unveils all-new version of software that drives its products from iPhone to iPad, Apple Watch and TV, Mac, and Vision Pro. As is the case with these events, the conference will be available to watch online. Select developers, students and media will have the option to attend in person during a special event at Apple Park on June 9.
To the usual folks that attend these events, i.e., developers and students, WWDC serves as a medium to gain unique access to Apple experts, as well as insight into new tools, frameworks, and features, helping them make the most out of their applications. For everybody else, it’s the place where Apple announces the next generation updates for its software. This year’s big showstopper is expected to be iOS 19, which is tipped to brings a slew of new features and functionalities and possibly new AI—Apple Intelligence—quirks.
Apple took last year’s WWDC to reveal to the world how it plans to take on Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI, in AI. It is yet to deliver on a lot of those promises with one of the biggest announcements—a smarter Siri voice assistant—pushed way past its scheduled rollout. Even features that have made through, have failed to prove competitors have anything to worry about. We may get more clarity on things at WWDC 2025.
“We’re excited to mark another incredible year of WWDC with our global developer community,” Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations said in a press release. “We can’t wait to share the latest tools and technologies that will empower developers and help them continue to innovate.”
Hardware announcements are rare but not unheard of so fingers crossed for this one.
