Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Minister Omar Abdullah found himself caught in a frustrating travel ordeal over the weekend. While visiting Delhi, Abdullah took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) in the early hours of Sunday to vent about his experience with IndiGo Airlines and Delhi Airport.
In his post, he wrote, “Delhi airport is a bloody shit show (excuse my French but I’m in no mood to be polite). Three hours in the air after we left Jammu we get diverted to Jaipur & so here I am at 1 in the morning on the steps of the plane getting some fresh air. I’ve no idea what time we will leave from here.”
Abdullah later updated followers, saying, “In case anyone is wondering, I got to Delhi just after 3:00 AM. 🤬🥱🥱”.

Flight delays and chaos at Jammu Airport
The disruption wasn’t isolated. On Saturday, Jammu Airport also witnessed chaotic scenes, with hundreds of stranded passengers complaining of delays and cancellations. Poor weather conditions in Srinagar triggered a domino effect, affecting several connecting flights across the region.
IndiGo weather advisory
In response to the delays, IndiGo issued a travel advisory on Friday evening via X. The airline informed passengers that unfavourable weather in Srinagar was affecting operations and urged travellers to stay updated through its official channels.
“Weather conditions in Srinagar are impacting flight operations. We understand this may cause inconvenience and truly appreciate your patience. If your flight is impacted, you can explore flexible rebooking options or claim a refund via our website,” the advisory read.
As of now, IndiGo has not released an official statement regarding Abdullah’s flight diversion to Jaipur or the wider delays.
