Sikandar box office collection: Salman Khan starrer Sikandar’s box office trend has seen a noticeable decline 20 days after the release of the action drama. Sikandar has grossed just above Rs 110 crore in its 21-day run of box office collections. Released on Eid to capitalise on the festive crowd, the film opened with a strong presence, earning Rs 26 crore on its first days. Despite the benefits of the Good Friday holiday, the film is now facing a significant dip in the box office collections.
According to the initial trends and media reports, Sikandar was expected to earn around Rs 0.15 crore on its 21st day. The Sikandar continues to witness a decline at the box office, the film only getting Rs 9 lakh on Day 21, according to a report by Sacnilk. However, it still earned more than it did on its previous day at the box office. Sikandar, an action thriller, earned Rs 6 lakh on its third Fridayat the box office collections. The momentum of this film has steadily declined over the four weeks.
As Sikandar shows diminishing occupancy rates in theatres, it’s seeing an average of less than 10% audience across the 479 shows remaining in theatres. Despite a strong opening day of Rs 26 crore for Khan’s comback to the big screen, the film is now facing stiff competition from Kesari Chapter 2 and Sunny Deol’s Jaat.
The reviews of the film remain dwindingly low as fans question the lousy screenplay and performances. As per Indian Express reviews “both the director and the star flounder spectacularly, failing to give us anything we haven’t seen before.”
Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film reflects the life of Sanjay Rajkot, a ruler living in Rajkot, Gujarat. Salman Khan plays Sanjay Rajkot’s role in this film with his wife (Rashmika Mandanna). In this film, Salman (Sikandar) enjoys a peaceful life with his wife, Saisri. But Sikandar’s life takes a turn when he goes against a corrupt minister and the minister’s troublemaking son. He faces every challenge with courage and refuses to back down, no matter the odds.
