Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs some breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Yogesh Chaudhary, Director, Jaipur Rugs, talks to BrandWagon Online about his weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.
What is the one thing you like to do when not working?
When I’m not working, one thing I truly enjoy is listening to music. It helps me unwind and find a sense of calm. Music has always been a source of inspiration for me, and I find that it allows me to recharge and bring fresh energy to my work. I also enjoy watching shows on Netflix—it’s a great way for me to relax, explore different stories, and just take a break from the hustle of daily life.
How do you spend your weekends?
On weekends, I like to spend quality time with my family and catch up with friends. It’s important for me to balance work with my loved ones, and weekends provide the perfect opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy their company. I also like to review my startup portfolios and engage with young startups that show great potential. It’s inspiring to see new ideas grow, and I enjoy offering advice and insights whenever I can.
What are your favourite gadgets?
One of my favourite gadgets has to be my Remarkable tablet. I’ve always been a note-taker, constantly jotting down ideas and thoughts in notebooks. But with the Remarkable tablet, it’s become so much easier. It combines the feel of writing on paper with the convenience of digital storage, allowing me to take notes, sketch ideas, and organize my thoughts effortlessly. It’s been a game-changer for staying productive and creative.
My smartphone is another essential gadget. It’s not just a phone but my camera, my calendar, and my connection to the world. Whether I’m capturing moments, staying organized, or just enjoying some downtime with music or a podcast, it keeps me connected and on track.
Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?
If I had the chance to switch careers, I’d definitely dive into the world of technology. I’ve always had a fascination with tech and computers—their constant evolution and the way they shape our world is just so exciting. Whether it’s exploring artificial intelligence, getting into software development, or even diving into cybersecurity, I’m drawn to the idea of being at the cutting edge of innovation. The thought of creating something that could actually change how we live, work, or connect with each other feels like an incredible adventure to me!
Which is your favourite vacation spot?
My favourite vacation destination would have to be the South of Italy. The region has such a unique charm, from the stunning coastline along the Amalfi Coast to the rich history of cities like Naples and Pompeii. The food is incredible, and as a vegetarian, I especially love the freshly oven-baked pizzas and delicious gelatos. The people are warm and welcoming, and there’s something magical about the way the past and present blend together there.
A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign you highly recommend watching?
– When it comes to ad campaigns, I highly recommend exploring the campaigns of Shyam Ahuja from the 1980s and 1990s. His campaigns are iconic and timeless, always striking the perfect balance between creativity, emotion, and impact. Ahuja’s ability to craft memorable narratives and connect deeply with audiences has set a benchmark in the advertising world, making his campaigns a true inspiration even today.
As for TV shows, my all-time favourite sitcom has to be The Big Bang Theory. It’s a perfect blend of humor, heart, and quirky characters that never fails to make me laugh. The chemistry between the characters and their nerdy yet endearing personalities makes it a timeless classic. Another favourite of mine is Scam 1992. It’s a gripping and brilliantly executed show that dives into the world of finance, showcasing the rise and fall of a stock market genius. What makes it even more compelling is how it reveals the other side of the person behind the scam—the complexities, motivations, and the dark side of ambition. The storytelling and performances are top-notch, making it a must-watch!
For a movie, I’d suggest “The Pursuit of Happiness.” It’s an inspirational journey about resilience, determination, and the unbreakable bond between a father and son. The emotional depth and Will Smith’s performance will stick with you long after the credits roll.
